In the Maldives they know their stuff, not in the least when it comes to serving food and beverages with lots of style and panache. A "drink" seldom means just a drink. It is rarely by its own, but instead put in front of you with delicious canapées, toasted nuts (not your cheap bar variety), tiny skewers of grilled chicken, tropical fruit, chocolate....above a magic sunset on Velassaru a few years back. That margarita glass was big enough to bathe in, at leats for a hobbit sized person as myself. :-)
Avocado mousse tidbits to die for....forget about any other diet than the "Buckets of drinks and delish food" kind. My kind. ;-)
The ultimate. The queen of all cocktails. A BIKINITINI (gin, blue curacao, peach snapps and attitude) served in the Lighthouse Lounge on Baros at sunset. Christ, I actually get chills thinking about it!
On Dhonakulhi (Hideaway Beach) a glass of crispy Sauvignon Blanc from NZ brings some friends to the table. Meeru bar is a lovely end-of-the-day place to indulge. Your personal Thakaru (butler) handles the practical side of things. You may (just) drink yourself.
It's not all alcoholic. Above yummy Moroccan tea on Hadahaa (Park Hyatt)
Adored this coffee machine in my Beach Villa on Velassaru.....
