Luke, Co pilot Nila Kiefer andCabin crew Ammadey Ifshan decides to swim ashore instead of waiting for the boat to pick them up. Absolutely marvellous photo!!!!!! :-)
Eriyadhoo - waiting to be explored?
Remember our man in the Maldives? Luke Howard, pilot working for seaplane company TMA, and the man who invented "Beaching". Luke takes spectacular photographs from his seat in the seaplane and has been kind enough to share some with Maldivesbug. Follow him on Instagram riverpilot007 for more breath taking views of the Maldives - the garden of Eden on earth.
Conrad Resort Maldives, Ari atoll
I recently read that Luke has even experienced Mantas jumping out of the water after he landed the sea plane, perhaps as a greeting. How marvellous is that?
View of North Male atoll.
An atoll is a collection of islands in ring formation, even if the shape of the ring isn't always a perfect circle. :-) The Maldives have 26 atolls all with at least two completely different names, one administrative and one name-name. North Male atoll (where both the airport and the capital Malé is located) is also called Kaafu atoll. Yes, it is confusing, but oh so much more exotic and exciting!!
There are almost 1000 uninhabited islands in the Maldives. No shortage of Robinson exeperinces waiting to happen. Don't miss the opportunity to have a day at sea, stopping at one of those pretty little islands.
