You do not really know what small island means until you have visited the Maldives. I have tried, and mostly failed, describing it by how many minutes it takes to walk around the islands perimeter, but mostly the listener still has the questionmark on his or her face after I have told them '
45 minutes', or even '10 minutes' . :-) I get it, it's really hard to imagine. This delightful little film is from the smallest Island I have visited (so far).
Kandolhu is an absolute paradise pearl in North Ari atoll. Accomodation consists of 36 stunning huts, some over water. Walk around the island in about 5 minutes. We were there in December 2014 an adored it! The Island is an almost perfect circle with an amazing house reef all around. For taking pictures this must be to the Maldives what Santorini is to Greece!! I would love to go back!!! The resort has a boat (yacht) called the Ari Explorer that had just been renovated when we were there. Wow. Drinking champagne and watching dolphins on the deck of that baby feels exactly right. Watching the sunset from our Pool water villa #205 on Kandholhu. Peaceful.
