All the videos and pics in this blog are my own. Above - Good morning Hurawalhi!
Came to Hurawalhi the first time in February 2017 (on Valentine's day actually. There were red balloons EVERYWHERE) and loved it!
This trip was in celebration of my husband’s 50th birthday and we brought our ”chickens” along (17, 22 and 24 yo). The official plan was 2 weeks on Kuredu, but we had booked 3 nights in Ocean pool sunset villas on Hurawalhi as a surprise! The chickens were completely blown away, needless to say.
Sunset magic from the deck of Champagne Pavilion
Arriving to Ocean pool villas 258 and 260 at the very end of the jetty, next to the famous Champagne Pavilion was a real thrill. Combines my favorite things; Champagne, sunsets and the Maldives! The villas must be every honeymooner’s dream destination. Every amenity you can think of and a really, really impressive All Inclusive package! It was rather hard even leaving the villa.
Stunning interior and exterior, super close to “the wall”, a great reef for snorkeling all day if you want to, and a stunning view with pods of dolphins swimming past as you sip your morning coffee. Sounds too much like a travel ad? Hahahaha!! NO travel ad could match or describe this gem of a resort!
We usually had lunch by the pool, so convenient to just relax. Wonderful menu, all included of course. Suranga (who I knew from Komandoo) and Pradheep kept our glasses topped up and our faces smiling. Lala – handsome supergentleman – makes sure everyone is seen and taken good care of.
Excellent food to be had - even by the pool.
The buffet in Cannelli, whether for breakfast or dinner, is outstanding. Adorded the fresh juice press service, btw!! We also had dinner at Kashibo, fine dining in great environment. Again, included one lunch and one dinner. Amazing.
The architecture is beautiful everywhere and what really surprised me was how much the foliage had grown since February 2017. The island is basically a tropical garden – so lush.
Hurawalhi, lush garden exterior and beautifully designed interior
The staff, again, is great! Gasim was our #1 man, taking care of everything under the sun quickly and kindly. Such a nice personality and great sense of humour. Navaz at front office, very proactive man. So many I would like to mention, but the names have slipped even if the memory of how nice you all are have not!! We even ran into Brad Calder, Hurawalhi’s (and Kudadoo's) extremely likable GM - a true KIWI.
Suranga. No one can resist that smile!
This island is blessed by nature as well as by nurture. Beauty and taste combined with excellent staff, stunning accommodation and an extensive AI package are just a few reasons for going. Also, not to be forgotten as it is very important to us, is how eco conscious they are. Well done!
We LOVED it and of course we will have to come back!
